Lounging Around: Our Favourite Pieces for Staying In

Living in the tropics, there is nothing nicer than ending the out-and-about busy part of the day with a cool shower - washing away the sticky humidity and slipping into something light, loose and comfy to wear for a night in.  After a shower you don’t necessarily want to hop straight into bed wear, but nor does it feel right to be putting on another outfit. What I love is something in-between for the hours while I’m still up. It has to be light and comfy - nothing restrictive or tight fitting but stylish enough that I don’t feel like a slob. And my preference is for shorts because after dinner, I’m curling up on the sofa to watch some TV and shorts are infinitely more comfy for some binge watching. That’s my brief. And here is what I love…

“My absolute favourite pick is the Deiji Studios 03 linen set. The man-style boxer shorts and loose boxy shirt feel roomy in all the right ways and depending on the colour, this set is elegant enough to wear out and about too. I have it in ‘Ink’ but am adding the ‘butter yellow’ to cart because one set is not enough.”

Assembly Label is a well loved Australian brand known for great elevated basics and I am in love with this butter yellow oversized slouchy t-shirt and poplin cotton shorts with elasticated waist for the perfect lounge-at-home set. If you want to take it up a level, pair the shorts with the matching poplin shirt.”

“I have long been a fan of the L.A. brand, Xirena. Their lightweight cotton poplin and cotton gauze pieces are just as beautiful out of the house as they are within. For stylish lounging at home wear, my pick is the Draper pant paired with the Jules blouse which has just enough detail to feel special without compromising on comfort.”
