TRAVEL BAG

Being an expat means a fair amount of travel and I’m always looking to elevate my travel look. I saw this personalised Longchamp bag and thought it was both fun and practical.

“There’s something about adding your initials to a piece of luggage, even if it is a canvas carry on, that feels very swish in a good way.”

I love a gold hoop and they are pretty much the only earrings I wear now. I spotted these beautiful hoops, created by the uber stylish Anna Bromilow, and thought they would make a great addition to my collection.

GOLD HOOPS

“Designed in collaboration with LONDON based stylist, Anna Bromilow, the Ariadne Hoops are an elegant addition to the range with its signature rope-like design.”

VICTORIA BECKHAM BEAUTY

After watching the Victoria Beckham documentary I fell in love with her all over again, her clothes are beautiful and timeless (and out of budget) so I thought I would start ‘entry point’ with her beauty brand, I have only ever read amazing things about it.

“Each Victoria Beckham Beauty Eye Wardrobe was CREATED to pair with an iconic shade of Satin Kajal Liner - this one in OLIVE has just the right amount of earthy glamour.”

soft and stylish sweaters

Since moving to Portugal, I have been building up my sweater collection, which after more than 10 years in Singapore was basically non-existent, and I definitely have a soft spot for anything made with cashmere. I am loving all of the burgundy and plum shades heading into Fall and these pieces are currently on my wish list.

“Deep, rich and VERSATILE, burgundy is having a major moment across fashion, INTERIORS and beauty.”

CERAMICS COLLECTION

In Tara Thivolet's edit: Cream woven Portuguese ceramic fruit bowl by Felipe Almeida

Another thing I have been adding to, since I moved to Lisbon, is my ceramic collection. I love to buy antique plates, mainly from auction houses, and then use them to decorate the walls of our beach cabana with. Mixed with Indian printed fabrics and woven furniture, the plates make a great relaxed statement on the walls in lieu of more traditional art.

“For CONTEMPORARY pieces, my go-to brands are Felipa Almeida and Bordallo Pinheiro - both are great options. We are really spoilt for CHOICE with these great Portuguese brands.”

my recent trip to paris

I just came back from Paris and spotted a lot of rugby shirts there, so many brands have their own versions, but I have a soft spot for the classic Ralph Lauren ones. I was bummed to have missed the opening of the Sargent Dazzling Paris exhibition at the Musée d’Orsay, but I will be back in Paris soon to see my kids so I will hopefully see it then. I am also excited for the grand opening of Foundation Cartier’s new building, designed by Jean Nouvel. Two things for the diary for next time I’m back.

“It seems that a classic preppy look is influencing FASHION at the moment - with rugby shirts and leather loafers being seen on the streets of EUROPE. It’s very reminscent of the mid 90’s ”

END OF THE SUMMER

Styled by Tara Thivolet from Zojora: A table dressed for entertaining using rattan placemats fluted glassware and Zojora block-printed tablecloth

Back in Lisbon after summer travels and we’ve been lucky enough to still be enjoying al fresco dinners. My daughter Rose, recommended this great cookbook and I’ve found lots of new recipes that I’ve been adding into the mix. I’ve also recently launched some new Zojora table linen which I’ve been loving at home for early Fall dinners outside.

Curated by Tara Thivolet: Loewe Tomato Leaves scented candle is the smell of summer

For our home, I’m eyeing this LOEWE Tomato Leaves candle to hold on to that summer feeling. Then again, we don’t really need to WORRY about that as it still feels like summer here. It’s definitely one of the perks of living in LISBON.”
